But I will share what we've been doing here these past few weeks.
You know we've been continuing with our homeschooling. After eleven years of homeschooling, I think we may have found our groove, and it only took eleven years! I honestly think it has a lot to do with the fact that our kids are older now. While the subjects have gotten harder, teaching children who can work more independently has made homeschooling much easier over all.
But every once in a while, we get a little silly! (She was actually reading her book like this!)
Since I moved blogs in 2013, our family has also made a move to Colorado! We love to explore all that there is here in Colorado. Recently, we took a hike on the trails of Mt. Falcon. Hopefully, we'll be back there soon because we didn't quite make it to the ruins that give one trail the name "Castle Trail".
And here's a great view of Red Rocks from Mt. Falcon also.
Sometimes amongst all of the work that taking care of a home, a family, and home education entails, I tend to neglect myself and my interests. Now that our kids are older and more independent, I'm trying to pay more attention to my hobbies and learning new things.
You know how I love gardening, which is hard in a rental house (but not impossible...more on that later!) So when a friend suggested growing some herbs in the kitchen windowsill, I jumped at the opportunity.
This week, we were rewarded with some baby chives!
I've also been learning how to quilt which is something I've always wanted to learn. I'm hoping to make our oldest son a quilt before he graduates in May and moves away.
Those are just a few things we've been up to in our home lately!
I hope you have a great weekend!
