My goal is to document the garden each week on my blog. And I thought it would be nifty to number the week on each post. But I can’t seem to keep up with that so we will just say, “Garden notes” to keep it simple for my tired brain. *smile*
There’s not been much change other than the the berry patches got weeded and are waiting for mulch to be placed around the plants. But the rain…it seems to rain every time I get a second to work in the garden. Except on the days that I can’t work in the garden. On those days, it’s beautiful outside.
But there are some seeds making their way through the soil!
We’re finding snow peas, snap beans (bush & pole), and swiss chard are making their appearances.
We have started hardening off the plants before transplant. However, someone who shall remain nameless accidentally left the plants out overnight and the temps dropped a bit. The nameless someone was very glad when she found that the plants survived the cooler temps. This same someone really needs to repot some of those plants you see above. Someone is super behind on the gardening game this year. *smile*
I am still completely amazed by how gorgeous the mustard green flowers are. I really, really, really need to harvest them because behind that mustard green jungle lies some English peas that need to be harvested. But the flowers are beautiful…and they have attracted bees to our garden. I’m hoping the bees find the peach tree because I would love some peaches this year.
So there’s not a whole lot to report right now other than someone really needs to get busy in the garden.
Garden goal for 2013
I have found a new to me blog that I simply adore. The author of the blog One hundred dollars a month sets a goal for her garden harvest for the year. I decided to do the same also. My goal is kind of big for our little backyard garden especially since I’m quite late to get plants in the ground but I’m going to go for it anyway. Our garden goal…
I’ll be sure to keep you posted on that! Look in the sidebar for a running total…
Ok, off to garden even though it’s after 10 pm, I’ve got a goal to meet!
