the week of no internet

IMAG0492

I am so excited! After almost a week of no internet, we are back online today!

So how did we lose internet?

Well…remember the mammoth tree I talked about

(That’s a cross section of the tree in the picture at the top. And that’s not even the largest cross section that we saw!)

IMAG0487 The tree guys usually had an audience.  It was pretty amamzing!

As the tree guys were in the process of cutting down the tree, they also accidentally disconnected our phone/internet line from the house.

And you probably know that it takes a few days to get these kinds of things back up and running.

So we had almost a week of no internet.

IMAG0490 Load number 3 or was it 4…or 5?

Back to the tree…

School was interesting the days of tree cutting and stump grinding.

Interesting as in almost impossible.

Have you ever competed with guys climbing a thousand feet into the air up the side of a tree?

Or tried to talk to your kids over the loud roar of a stump grinder?

Ay-yi-yi!

I was very glad that it was Valentine’s week because we spent some time making our Valentine boxes for the homeschool Valentine skating party.  We squeezed in reading and math in between trips to the windows as we watched the tree guys.

There was skating and exchanging of cards & candy at our Valentine party.

IMAG0486 You can only see a smidge of my oldest daughter in this picture.  So hard to take a picture with a phone in the skating rink! *smile*

We also went to an open house for Classical Conversations where we were able to sit in and participate with the classes.  We loved it! Still praying over next school year for us though…

And did I mention that my oldest son went to Driver’s Education classes this past week?  I’m still trying to digest that one…

I enjoyed my time off of the internet because I had time to read, do a little thrift shopping, and plan the garden a bit more.  It’s amazing all the things you can do when you don’t let the internet distract you can’t get on the internet.  But I am super glad to be back here again!
