This is my first time to participate in Menu Plan Monday! Yay!
I don’t particularly care for the menu planning process but it is necessary for me and my family. If I go into the store without a plan, I will come out spending big $$ and I have no idea what I’m going to cook. So I try to plan my menus two weeks at a time… that way I don’t have to do it quite so often! ;0) Now if I could just get organized enough to do it once monthly or less often that would be great!
This week’s menu:
Monday – To Die for Crock Pot Roast, green beans, broccoli, rice and gravy
Tuesday – Potato Soup with turkey bacon, lettuce, & tomato sandwiches
Wednesday – Crockpot Chicken and Noodles, salad, green beans, and possibly homemade rolls (if I find time to make them)
Thursday – Red Beans & Rice with sausage, cornbread, fruit salad
Friday – Spaghetti with meat sauce, veggies, salad, and garlic bread
Saturday – Oven Fried Chicken Chimichangas, salad, corn
Next week, I will be trying to reduce our grocery budget as I menu plan. Right now we spend about $100 - $120 a week for seven people. So I’m going to shoot for $75 - $100 as I plan next week. I’m always up for a challenge!
